He is also the author of The Way Things Ought to Be, a New York Times bestseller for over a year and #1 for over 25 weeks. Rush's second book, See, I Told You So sold equally well, breaking publishing industry sales records. Rush was the 1992 recipient of the Marconi Award for Syndicated Radio Personality of the Year, bestowed by the National Association of Broadcasters. In November, 1993 he was inducted into the Radio Hall of Fame. |

Rush Limbaugh was born in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, a small Midwestern town. He fell in love with radio while still in grade school. Pursuing his love, Rush became a Top-40 deejay in the 1960s and held various other jobs including the Director of Group Sales for the Kansas City Royals. Later he was promoted to Director of Sales and Special Events. By 1983, Rush caught the broadcasting bug again and re-entered radio as a political commentator for KMBZ in Kansas City. A year later, he was hosting a daytime talkshow on KFBK, Sacramento, nearly tripling that program's ratings in four years. From Sacramento, it was on to New York in 1988 and the birth of Rush's record-breaking national show. Rush Limbaugh can now be heard in over 650 markets across the country and throughout the world. His syndicated radio show reaches over 20 million listeners per week.
